What The App Does
Kedalion Sentinel scans selected monday.com boards for potential sensitive data, shows redacted findings, and gives teams an audit-friendly review workflow.
What The App Does Not Do
The app does not automatically delete, modify, mask, move, or comment on monday.com items in Release 1.
Getting Started
- Install the app from monday.com and approve the requested scopes.
- Open the Sentinel Dashboard from the workspace or board view.
- Select policy packs and boards to monitor.
- Run a manual scan or choose a daily or weekly cadence.
- Review findings, add notes, sign off resolved or false-positive decisions, and export reports if needed.
First-Run Checklist
- Create or choose a test board with fake sample data only.
- Limit monitoring to that board from the Boards selector.
- Keep the all-sensitive-data policy pack enabled for the first scan.
- Run a manual scan and confirm findings use redacted evidence.
- Resolve one fake finding with initials, then run another scan. If the same risk is still present, it should reopen automatically.
- Export the CSV and confirm it contains review status and redacted evidence only.
Troubleshooting
The Run Scan button is disabled
Open Kedalion Sentinel from inside monday.com so the app can receive the monday session context. If the view still says connecting or not installed, refresh the monday view and confirm the app is installed for the account.
The app opens with demo data
Demo data appears outside monday.com or when monday session context is unavailable. Install the app, then open the workspace or board view from monday.com for live scans.
No findings appear after a scan
Check that the intended policy packs are enabled and that the board is included in the Boards selector. The app scans supported text-like board content and intentionally ignores unsupported file contents in Release 1.
A resolved finding came back
This is expected when a later scan still detects the same risk. Resolved means the reviewer believes remediation is complete; the next scan verifies whether the risky data is still present and reopens the finding if needed.
Scheduled scans are not running
Confirm the scan cadence is daily or weekly, not manual. Scheduled scans only run for active installations and selected boards that are due for their cadence window.
The app cannot connect
Refresh the monday view, check that the app is still installed, and retry from the workspace or board view. If your monday admin recently removed app permissions, reinstall the app through the monday install flow.
Common Questions
Does Kedalion Sentinel store raw sensitive data?
No. The app stores metadata and redacted evidence snippets, not full raw board text or full sensitive values.
Can I limit which boards are scanned?
Yes. You can monitor all boards or select a narrower set of boards from the dashboard.
Can users reopen a resolved finding?
Yes. Findings can be reopened, and every review status change is recorded in the review trail.
What happens if a resolved finding is still present on the next scan?
The finding is reopened automatically and the review trail records that it was reopened because the same risk was detected again.
Why is sign-off required for resolved and false-positive findings?
Sign-off creates an accountable breadcrumb trail showing who made a close-out decision and when.
Where can I find the full user guide?
Use the public guide at https://www.kedalion.app/sentinel/how-to-use.html.
If You Still Need Help
Most setup and scan issues can be resolved with the checklist above. If the issue persists, contact hello@kedalion.app.
What should I include in a support request?
Please include your monday.com account slug, the board name, the approximate time of the issue, and a description of what you expected to happen. Do not send raw sensitive data in support messages.
